Leaving, on a Jet Plane....

Whew it has been a busy week! Olivia and I returned from our visit to Michigan last evening and we are both tired! We had a wonderful time.

We spent lots of time outdoors enjoying Grandma’s beautiful porch and her 20 acres. Olivia just loved playing on Grandpa’s tractor and ran towards it whenever she had a chance! We got to visit with Aunt Dawn, Scott, Katrina, Robin, Bonnie, and a few others. Good times were had by all!

Liv continued to talk about Grandma and Grandpa the entire trip home! I am sooo glad she got some time to reconnect with them.

Mom and Katrina taught me how to make earrings and now I got tha’ fever!!! Mom and I visited a bead store the day before I went home, and it was sooo much fun!

The trip home was a little rough... Olivia was NOT wanting to cooperate. But having spent the previous 2.5 hours in a car seat, I can certainly understand why. While I was sad to leave it was nice returning home. Can't wait for our next visit!

Sickness strikes!

Well this weekend was a little rough. Liv really didnt eat dinner Friday night and cried for a long period before sleeping. Then Saturday morning she spiked a low grade fever which she kept until Sunday morning.

Surprisingly, after her Motrin wore off she had no fever for about 2 hours but then it came back! She is at school this morning because, again, no fever.... but we will see if it lasts.

I am hoping it was just a 24 hour bug!

Such a smart girl!

Olivia is such a smart girl.

She is, and has been for a while, obsessed with books! She really learns sooo much from them. My favorites (and ones that have taught her the most) are Bright Baby 100 series books. She has the 100 Animals and the 100 First words. I HIGHLY recommend them for the 12-24 mos age range.

Some words we have been working on lately are her animals and the sounds they make. So far she knows:

Bird - Tweet, Tweet
Duck - Quack, Quack
Dog - Ruff, Ruff
Pig - Oink, Oink
Owl - Hoo, Hoo
Cat - Meow
Cow - Moo
Horse - Ney
Sheep - Baa
Snake - Sssss
Lion - Roarrr
Chicken - Bok, Bok
Turkey - Gobble, gobble

In addition to these show knows many more animals but not the matching sounds. Also knows all the basic stuff around the house.

Colors are what we are working on now... the only ones she consistently knows is Black, and White. Most things are Yellow. ;) But, we are learning!!

She is even putting words together such as: "I can see you" and "Hold you".

She is soooo smart these days and amazes me all the time. Now... I realize these are probably normal things for her age but I cant help but brag a little!!!

To blog, or not to blog?

Blogging is something I have attempted at one time... and gave up on once my time seemed full again. This time I am committed to blogging at least a few times a week.

Let's see how it goes!
